Picnic in the Park

Afternoon gorgeous,
Your Grandma, Aunty Fran and I just had a gorgeous, very hot picnic in the park.  I'm on maternity leave now and they visited to keep me company while I wait for you to arrive.  Aunty Fran is a queen of salads, Grandma calls here Salad Sister, she brought a green salad with asparagus and avocados, a potato salad and a chicken salad.  We chatted and watched the ducks and the dogs in the lake.
We're having a heatwave at the moment in England - it's been getting up to 33C.  I stay indoors mostly as having you inside me makes me even hotter (they say it's because of all the extra blood).  We have a fan in our bedroom but it's still 28C in there.  I hope we manage to keep you cool enough when you arrive.

Morning little one,
You have just been very active in there - rolling, kicking and stretching.  I felt your elbow and then your hand pressing out of my right side.  I touched your hand back and you pressed into my hand, connecting with me - saying 'hi', like a mini high five.  Do you know that I'm here?  That I'm waiting to meet you?  Love you x

Aunties and Mum celebrating

Hello gorgeous,  this afternoon Grandma came to visit with Great Aunty Fran and Sarah.  They took us to afternoon tea at a cafe around the corner in Palmers Green.  It was a gorgeous day - very sunny and hot.  The tea was lovely - traditional with scones, sandwiches and cakes.  More flowers and beautiful gifts as well as more story stone decorating and scan photo signing.
You were being shy, you stopped moving every time Aunty Sarah wanted to say hello.  She was very very excited and hopes to meet you before she goes to France on the 27th June - Will you be here by then I wonder...

Sisters celebrating

Yesterday was lovely.  Your Aunty Elle and Laura came to visit and we went for a yummy Italian meal and then Gelato - Italian icecream.  They were both very generous and we got some beautiful outfits including an Elmer and The Hungry Caterpillar baby outfits.  You'll see form the photos that we spend the afternoon being silly and laughing.  Aunty Elle has offered to look after a lot and come visit often which will be lovely as she also lives in London.  They decorated story stones and signed your scan photo as well.  They can't wait to meet you x

Baby Shower

Morning little one.  Everyone's just gone home and I'm so pleased your baby shower went well.  I hosted a rainbow-themed party for you at the house and all my favourite girlfriends came (your surrogate aunties!)  Everyone brought treat with them based on rainbows and I decorated with banners and your newly-completed rainbow mobile.  We decorated your story stones from Silecroft beach and signed your framed scan photograph.
Instead of bringing a card, everyone bought you a book and wrote a message inside - I am looking forward to reading them to you.
I felt so special and so proud to be having you.  I can't wait to meet you.  Love you so much already xxx

Playlist

Hi little one, we listened to our playlist again last night.  We've been listening to the same few songs for two months now mostly on the way home work in the car but sometimes in bed.  Last night you moved around a lot, dancing I suppose.  Most are calming songs, my favourite is Songbird and I look forward to rocking you in my arms whilst singing or listening to this song.  The books say you'll remember these songs when you come out, is that true?
We're going to our second parenting class this evening to learn more about bringing you into this world.  It's getting very close now.

Hiccups

This evening Daddy felt you for the first time!  He was delighted to feel you hiccupping in my tummy; we giggled.  Now we feel like a family.  I'm so pleased for us all.  Love you x

Second Hello

Dear little one, today we saw you for the second time.  You look a lot more cramped in there than the first time we saw you.  The lady who scanned me was very pleased with all your measurements and how healthy you look; we're very happy that you're doing well in there.  We saw you sucking your thumb and at one point I'm sure you waved at us.
The lady asked if we wanted to know if you're a girl or a boy.  We have decided to keep it a surprise!  We're both really excited to cuddle you and get to know you.  Love you heaps already xxx

Is that you?

Hi little one, I'm 19 weeks pregnant with you.  You're the size of a grapefruit - 6 inches from head to bottom.  This morning whilst lying down did I feel you for the first time?  And am I feeling you now?  I think it's you, nudging me to say 'good morning!'  It felt like two marbling rolling across the inside of my stomach and now it feels like little fingers invisibly poking me.  I think it's you!  I'm in shock!  Our first real hello.  I can't wait to meet you beautiful.  I love you already xxx
